For my first baked pumpkin good of 2013, I wanted to make one of my favorites: soft chocolate pumpkin cookies. One thing I did a little differently this year was add the new pumpkin spice flavored M&M's. Pumpkin Spice M&Ms. The most sought-after candy this Fall seems to be pumpkin spice flavored M&Ms, sold exclusively at Target.

Traditional pumpkin spices are a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, allspice, and/or mace. The ingredients for these M&Ms are vague, just listing "artificial and natural flavorings" at the end of the list. The pieces are, for the most part, the mega size. They're larger than a standard M&M and come in three colors in the package.

Instructions. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees f. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper. Place the flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt into a large bowl and whisk together. Place the butter, brown sugar and sugar into a large bowl and beat together until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg until combined.

Blend butter, sugars, and pumpkin pie spice. Beat in eggs. Mix remaining dry ingredients together and add to sugar/egg mixture. Mix until well-blended. Stir in 1 c. M&M's. Drop by tablespoon onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Decorate tops of cookies with remaining M&M's. Bake at 375 degrees 10 minutes or until golden brown.
