The Cappella Altieri, which occupies the left transept of the church of San Francesco a Ripa, is home to the sculpture of Blessed Ludovica Albertoni (1671-74), a later work by Gian Lorenzo Bernini (1598-1680). The Bernini is fantastic, something of a companion to the more famous Saint Teresa in Ecstasy at Santa Maria della Vittoria, and truly worth a visit. The light box, however, didn't seem to be plugged in while we were there, so we couldn't illuminate the statue.. San Francesco a Ripa doesn`t look like a Baroque church, its interior decoration.
