in 1968, Pte Paul Trzencinski of 7RAR's Assault Pioneer Platoon was killed accidentally by one of his own men T/Sgt Bob Buick failed to ensure his platoon members were carrying the prescribed amount of ammunition as per SOPs before leaving for the Long Tan rubber, requiring a re-supply of ammunition by air during the battle that put RAAF.

Pte Paul Large from 12 Platoon fronts Major Harry Smith for punching a Lance Corporal. Large had been before Harry the Officer Commanding (OC) of D Coy three times previously. Harry was going to give him 21 days field punishment and 21 days loss of pay so Large asked for a court martial as he said he had good evidence and 4 witnesses to support.
